The Cartier Cloche is no stranger to connoisseurs and collectors of the famous Parisian brand, with its distinctive shape becoming a cult classic over the years, originally inspired by Cartier Art Deco clocks. Even though all Cloche variants are coveted, with recent models appearing in very limited editions, many collectors might not even be aware of the existence of the present watch.

Created as part of a very rarely seen “Chinese Zodiac” series, this “Year of the Monkey” Cloche was made in an exceedingly limited series of just 2 pieces, as were the 11 other pairs, each featuring a different animal on the dial. Indeed, this series is so elusive that this is the very first time that any Chinese Zodiac Cloche has ever appeared at auction.
