Dial: silvered sector dial signed Cartier, gilded Arabic numerals, sector-form chapter ring with black baton hour indexes, outer chemin-de-fer minute ring, gilded epée hands

Calibre: 5½’’’ baguette-form movement signed LeCoultre Co., grained decoration, lever escapement, 17 jewels, annular balance with poising screws, unadjusted

Movement number: backplate numbered 94'076 and with U.S. import code LXJ

Case: 14k yellow gold circular case with chamfered bezel, three concentrically arranged gold rings joined to the central case via three rivets, the outer ring forming a pendant bow, plain polished case back, notched winding crown with accommodating recess within innermost ring, inside case back signed LeCoultre and with Swiss lynx import assay mark, Edmond Jaeger punch mark, additional EJ flag-form 14k punch, and stamped 0.585 for 14k gold

The design of this Cartier pendant watch is a striking example of the Art Deco movement’s fascination with geometric abstraction and modernist elegance. The spiral rings radiating outward from the central case evoke a sense of infinite movement and dynamic energy, much like ripples on water or the expanding waves of a sound frequency. This modernist motif aligns perfectly with the Art Deco era’s embrace of bold, streamlined forms and innovative design. The concentric rings are not only functional, providing structural support for the pendant’s suspension, but also serve as a visual representation of Art Deco’s characteristic emphasis on symmetry and precision. The riveted construction adds an industrial touch, reflecting the modernity of the Machine Age, while the overall shape could be seen as an abstract reinterpretation of a spider's web – delicate yet strong, intricate yet minimalist.
