Within the array of iconic models on the Rolex Catalogue, the Day-Date still shines among all as the most prestigious model ever produced by Rolex. Seen on the wrist of presidents such as Lyndon B. Johnson to pop icon Bruno Mars, the Day-Date has a dedicated fan base that seems to have no limit.

The present watch, affectionately known as the ‘Stella’ named after the supplier of the colourful lacquered dials, is special for several reasons. Perhaps the most striking of which is the rich red lacquered dial itself, a feature that was extremely out of character for Rolex at the time. Perhaps due to its flashy appearance, they flew under the radar at first, however with the recent trend in bolder Rolexes, the Stellas skyrocketed in popularity thanks to its limited numbers and its vibrant dials. Set atop the dial are the exquisitely placed diamond indexes which pairs with the yellow gold case, creating a distinct aesthetic that stands out among the coveted Day-Date references.
