During the 1920s, Cartier created a range of exquisite diamond-set cocktail watches for ladies, reflecting the era’s glamour and Art Deco influences. Leveraging Cartier’s expertise as a luxury jeweller, these timepieces were transformed from functional objects into elegant jewellery accessories, often featuring platinum cases, geometric designs, and intricate detailing with diamonds and other precious stones. Cartier’s craftsmanship combined luxurious materials with a sleek, modern aesthetic, making these cocktail watches highly coveted among fashionable women of the time. Their timeless beauty and refined artistry continue to make them iconic pieces in Cartier’s legacy of luxury watchmaking.

The modern Cartier gold deployant clasp reuses the original platinum clasp mount that is set with a row of rose-cut diamonds.
