Description

Château de Beaucastel Rouge 1990

Châteauneuf du Pape

u. 1x3cm, excellent appearance; u. 1x3cm, excellente apparence

40% Grenache here, when usually it is 30%. So full of bloom and roses on the nose. Then a whiff of wood-smoke. Unbelievably fruity, fresh and lusty, ending on notes of tar and liquorice. So rich and succulent and silky. So juicy and sweet at the end. In 2009, it was lovely, with a really exciting nose of dry spices and gummy liquorice on the palate. Melts in the mouth. In 2011, it is spicy, elegant and fleshy. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
