A refined yellow gold open-faced lever watch by Hausmann & Cie, the historic Roman jeweller and watchmaker founded in 1794 and long associated with some of Italy's most prominent families and institutions. Crafted in 18k yellow gold, the case back is decorated with the blue enamel initials “VE” surmounted by a crown, suggesting a possible association with Victor Emmanuel III, King of Italy (1869-1947).

Dating to circa 1900, the watch is preserved in good overall condition and embodies the elegant craftsmanship for which Hausmann & Cie became renowned. While no documentary evidence accompanies the watch to firmly establish royal ownership, the crowned monogram presents an intriguing historical connection and enhances its appeal as a collector's piece.

A charming example of Italian horological production from the turn of the twentieth century, combining fine workmanship with a compelling potential royal association.
