The FGOne takes its name from Fawaz Gruosi, founder of de Grisogono, and stands as one of the brand’s most technically ambitious and visually assertive wristwatches.
The present example, dating to circa 2008, is organised around a highly structured, multi-register dial. Time is indicated via a jumping hour aperture at 12 o’clock and a retrograde minute scale, while a second time zone is positioned at 6 o’clock and paired with a day/night indicator. A retrograde seconds display completes the composition, creating a layered system in which each function occupies a defined architectural space.
Executed in pink gold and fully set with diamonds, the elongated case is stepped and vertically oriented, reinforcing the sculptural identity of the watch. Powered by an automatic movement, the FGOne is less concerned with conventional legibility than with the controlled interplay between complication, layout and form.
