Christie's London, 25 November 2019, lot 253 (Property of a Gentleman)

The decoration of this impressive desk clock of rare demi-lune form can be compared to other works produced by Fabergé, featuring similar floral motifs and pearl trellises. See for example the ‘Rose Trellis’ frame in G. Von Habsburg, Fabergé: Imperial Craftsman, p.271.

See also another demi-lune clock made by Mikhail Perkhin, circa 1890, with the same combination of a seed pearl frame, trelliswork, chased leaf borders and yellow guilloché ground, sold, Christie’s New York, 19 October 2001, lot 133.
