“Every animal, including those often ‘forgotten’ in the intensive meat industry, deserves attention. In this industry, bulls are frequently kept indoors, often in pens with hard slatted floors. They face inadequate space and numerous hoof and leg problems. Consequently, the welfare standards in intensive beef cattle farming are often poor. Through my painting, I grant freedom to the bull, Griffin. The dark clouds symbolize the negative aspects of this industry, but fortunately, the sun breaks through the clouds when people pay more attention to the welfare of animals destined for our consumption.” – Alexandra Klimas
