"You know who I'm inspired by? That kid that hasn't had the chance to showcase their brand yet. Those kids motivate the work I do every day. That's the muse of me: the next generation. And I want my work to inspire people like them." - Virgil Abloh
Renowned for his boundless creativity, celebrated designer and entrepreneur Virgil Abloh released in 2015 a suite of limited-edition screenprints as an homage to his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2002.
A true pioneer, Abloh ascended in 2018 to the role of Artistic Director of Menswear at Louis Vuitton, a landmark appointment that marked the first time an individual of African American descent helmed a French heritage house. Before joining LVMH, Abloh founded Pyrex Vision in 2012, a luxury streetwear venture that would later evolve into the influential Off-White label.
This suite of four screenprints exemplifies Abloh’s collaborative spirit, drawing on his formative years at the storied university as both the subject and dedicatee of the work.
