the first, Claude-François Héruville, Paris, 1809-1819, circular, all sides decorated with oval scattered on concentric engine-turning, framed by two-coloured gold chased foliate borders, the lid and base centred with a stylised flowerhead, the interior of the lid later engraved: '19 Juin 1915', unofficial Paris 3rd standard mark, Paris 3ème titre et grosse garantie 1809-1819, post-1918 French eagle’s head control mark for 18ct gold, 2 1/8 in., 5.4 cm. diameter,

the second, Louis-François Tronquoy, Paris, 1827-1838, rectangular, the lid and base centred with a small oval surrounded with lobed sunrays, the waisted sides chased and engraved with leafy scrollwork on a matted ground, slender thumbpiece, maker’s mark, Paris 3eme titre et grosse garantie 1819-1838, length 2 7/8 in., 7.4 cm.;

the third, Charles Petschler, Paris, 1819-1838, rectangular, the lid and base with an engine-turned pattern of small circles, the curved sides decorated with foliate scrollwork on a sable ground, maker’s mark, unofficial Paris 3rd standard mark, Paris 3eme titre et grosse garantie 1819-1838, later French import marks, 2 1/8 in., 5.4 cm. wide
