rectangular, all sides formed of mother-of-pearl panels carved with cloud-shaped gold apertures, inset with gold quatrefoil-patterned openwork, the later gold mounts chased with floral foliage and zig-zag borders, French prestige marks including illegible traces of a maker's mark and date letter, charge and discharge marks for Julien Berthe (1750-1756),
