the watered steel barrel with extended sight, gold inlay in baroque floral pattern including carnations at the breech and muzzle and undeciphered maker’s mark at the top of the breech, flintlock mechanism inlaid en-suite with undeciphered maker’s mark, four silver barrel bands, stock extensively decorated with chased silver in large vegetal motifs attached with numerous small rivets, ‘... ibn Mustafa’ maker’s mark to top of butt

A comparable flintlock rifle dated 1212 AH/1797-98 was sold in these rooms, 7 October 2009, lot 183. The present rifle shares its extensive use of chased silver in large vegetal motifs on the stock with that example.
