Executed in 1899, this impression is presumably an unrecorded proof of the second (final) state, aside from the second edition of 112 printed on China or Japan papers.
The present impression is printed on a large sheet of B.F.K. Rives wove paper with wide margins. Unlike the published edition, which was printed on a smaller sheet, here all edges of the image are visible, along with registration marks in the upper and lower margins. The image itself also differs from the published edition, most notably in the colouring of the horse in the foreground and in the sky.
