each signed in pencil, numbered 4/100 and annotated in sepia ink on the reverse G.P; also signed in pencil on the justification page, inscribed Portfolio and numbered 4/100

the complete portfolio, comprising 39 etchings on Hodgkinson handmade paper, with the table of contents and justification pages, loose (as issued), and an additional suite of 39 etchings bound as concertina folds as six books, with text by Heiner Bastian, contained in the original portfolio box

overall: 648 by 476 by 57 mm. 25½ by 18¾ by 2¼ in.

Executed in 1969-70, this portfolio is number 4 from the deluxe edition of 100 (there are also 100 examples of the editions A, B and C plus 15 artist’s proof sets, each with an additional suite of six etchings), published by Petersburg Press.
