Nestled in the Jura Mountains near the French border lies the quaint hamlet of L’Auberson, the birthplace of De Bethune. The brand emerged in 2002 through the collaboration of David Zanetta, an Italian art and vintage watch collector, and Denis Flageollet, a fourth-generation French watchmaker. With an annual production output of only around 350 watches, De Bethune is renowned for its bold, futuristic aesthetics and continuous exploration of advanced materials for their use in horology.

The DB25 Collection from De Bethune showcases the best of independent watchmaking with its classic shapes and rounded edges. The present Reference DB25LWS8V1 is part of the DB25 collection of timepieces and features a beautiful hand guillochéd dial in anthracite. The 3-dimensional spherical moon phase complication at 12 o'clock, a signature of the brand, is punctuated by little stars surrounding the rotating moon. The present timepiece is powered by the in-house manually wound calibre DB2105V1, and features a self-regulating twin barrel, a titanium and platinum balance wheel, while boasting a 6-day power reserve. Composed of 305 parts, the movement is known for its intricate hand finishing and decoration, including the Côtes de Bethune, and hand-polished chamfered steel parts.

Cased in 18k white gold with De Bethune's signature hollowed lugs that have become iconic to the brand, the present timepiece is offered complete with its box and papers.
