Since its founding in 1735 by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain in Villeret, Switzerland, Blancpain has become renowned in the world of watchmaking for creating some of the most iconic timepieces in history. While Blancpain is most well known for their Fifty-Fathoms collection of diving watches that was created in collaboration with the French Navy for use by combat swimmers, the Reference 4277-3446-55B is testament to Blancpain’s watchmaking prowess and a beautiful example of high horology by the brand.
The Reference 4277-3446-55B also known as Le Brassus Quantième Perpétuel GMT Havana is named for the rich color of the brown sunburst dial reminiscent of the iconic Cuban capital and the country’s most famous export: the cigar. The cigar is further referenced on the special rhodium plated gold rotor which is hand engraved with tobacco leaf motifs.
Produced in a limited edition of only 150 pieces cased in platinum, the Reference 4277-3446-55B brings together two complications: a perpetual calendar and a dual time zone. At its heart beats the self winding calibre 55A5A, which is made up of 312 components and boasts an impressive power reserve of up to 100 hours. Complete with its box and papers, we are pleased to offer the present timepiece, numbered at 111 out of 150 pieces.
