Launched in 2012, the Cartier Tourbillon Crocodile Decoration is a masterpiece of high jewelry and horology, limited to just 50 pieces and retailed for over 179,000 Euros. Its 44.5mm 18K white gold case is set with diamonds, while beneath the sapphire crystal the onyx dial showcases a crocodile sculpture in white gold and diamonds, with emerald eyes, alongside water lilies in white gold, enamel, and diamonds. This timepiece introduced a new calibre, based on the flying tourbillon movement, redesigned to display the keyless works, gear train, and barrel on the front, with an enlarged baseplate to accommodate the crocodile and flowers, so the movement itself fills the entire case. The manual-winding caliber 9458MC, certified with the Geneva Seal, exemplifies Cartier’s fusion of inventive watchmaking and haute joaillerie.
