The Richard Lange Jumping Seconds features a regulator-style dial with a striking geometric layout: the largest centrally positioned circle displays the seconds, while the two smaller subdials below indicate the hours and minutes. This distinctive design draws inspiration from chronometer No. 93, crafted by Johann Heinrich Seyffert, a master watchmaker who laid the foundations of precision timekeeping in late 18th-century Germany.
A small triangular indicator, positioned at the intersection of the hour and minute circles, turns red ten hours before the power reserve is exhausted, providing a subtle yet practical warning to rewind the watch.
This exceptional timepiece seamlessly integrates three complementary mechanisms: the jumping seconds function; the constant-force escapement, which ensures consistent energy delivery for enhanced rate accuracy throughout the entire power reserve; and the Zero-Reset mechanism, which instantly returns the seconds hand to zero when the crown is pulled, facilitating precise time setting.
Limited to only 100 pieces, this exemplary model embodies Lange’s dedication to handcrafting watches that marry technical precision with exceptional design.
