The Rolex Daytona received a major upgrade when the cal. 4030 movement, manufactured by Zenith, was replaced with a Rolex in house cal. 4130. Prior, the Zenith movement was used as the heartbeat of the Daytona line from 1988 until 2000.

This reference 116528 is constructed of solid yellow gold and features an uncommon dial configuration, having a black dial with champagne subdials and red accents to the outer track. The fixed gold bezel has a tachyscale with black lettering, consistent of the 'Zenith' Daytonas prior. The reference line was updated in 2011, when Rolex replaced the gold bezel with a proprietary Cerachrom bezel that is made of ceramic.

This lot is offered from a private collector and comes with its original box and papers. This watch is a great example for one of the final metal bezel references featuring Rolex’s in house movement.
