Hublot

Founded in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, MDM Genève introduced its first model, the Hublot—named after the French word for “porthole.” Drawing inspiration from maritime design, the watch featured a distinctive bezel construction and was the first wristwatch to incorporate a natural rubber strap. Its bold combination of a quartz movement with a precious metal case defied convention, yet resonated with a new generation of collectors, prompting Crocco to adopt Hublot as the brand’s name and enduring identity.
