The Golden Bridge collection by Corum flipped the script of contemporary watchmaking by making the internal workings of a watch front and center. The concept of incorporating the movement into the overall design of the watch by sandwiching the hand-engraved vertical movement between two pieces of sapphire crystal was the brainchild of self-taught watchmaker Vincent Calabrese.
The present Reference 13.850.56 is an earlier iteration of the Golden Bridge collection from the 1990s. The location of the back winder allows the linear silhouette of the watch to be uninterrupted, giving the movement centerstage. Accompanied by its original box and in beautifully preserved condition, the present timepiece perfectly exemplifies the essence of the iconic Golden Bridge collection.
