The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust stands as one of the brand’s most enduring and best-selling models. First introduced in 1945 as reference 4467 to commemorate Rolex’s 40th anniversary, it was the world’s first wristwatch to feature an automatically changing date display, a groundbreaking innovation that helped define the modern wristwatch.

In the 1950s, Rolex introduced a quick-change date mechanism, allowing the date to instantly "jump" at midnight, a feature that remains one of the model's defining traits. Around the same time, the addition of the Cyclops magnification lens and the introduction of two-tone steel and gold configurations further cemented the Datejust’s place as both a technical and aesthetic trailblazer. Subsequently, n the late 1970s, Rolex fitted the Datejust with the calibre 3135 movement, a reliable automatic caliber that became a mainstay of the collection for decades.

The present example features a striking black dial adorned with diamond hour markers. The elegant contrast of the dial with the two-tone stainless steel and yellow gold case and bracelet enhances its refined aesthetic. Fully stickered and accompanied by its complete set, this piece offers collectors an exceptional opportunity to acquire a modern classic.
