the centre repoussé and enameled with a scene of a seated bandura player in a flowering forest against a blue ground, framed by wirework scrolls on a plum ground, rope-twists and cloisonné enamel foliate motifs, the lobed rim with four raised circular reserves with swans against olive-green grounds, surrounded by brightly colored foliate ornament against a pale blue ground, with applied cable borders, gilt reverse, set on four ball feet, with engraved monogram initial JLN dated 1903, maker's initials
