oval with flattened sides, the front and back formed of toffee-coloured agate panels, the front with a small rectangular lid set with a carved agate cameo profile of Minerva, small rose-cut diamonds to corners, the left and right side with larger hinged rectangular lids formed of curved enamel panels of lavishly dressed figures within cropped black frames on a ground painted with fruit and flowers en camaieu and rose borders, framed by chased gold strapwork, French prestige marks including date letter K and charge mark of Julien Alaterre,
