A group of three gold and enamel snuff boxes, Charles Colins & Söhne, Hanau and Paris, early to mid 19th century

the first, a gold and enamel snuff box, Charles Colins & Söhne, Hanau, mid-19th century, cartouche-shaped, the lid probably later inset with a Limoges-style enamel plaque of a Roman soldier dressed in armour, on an engraved foliate ground, the sides and base similarly decorated, maker's mark, Hanau control mark;

the second, a gold snuff box of similar date by Charles Colins & Söhne, shaped rectangular with baluster sides, decorated with scrollwork and flowers, maker's mark, Hanau control mark;

the third, a gold snuff box, Paris, 1819-1838, rectangular, the lid centred with a plain armorial cartouche surrounded by chased and engraved arabesques, the sides and base with elaborate strapwork around engine-turned panels, Paris 1e titre,

the largest 9 cm; 3 ½ in. wide
