A gold-mounted micromosaic demi-parure and a large gold-mounted micromosaic pendant, Rome, circa 1860/70

the first, comprising square brooch centred with a raised and slightly domed mosaic of the Agnus Dei on pale blue ground, within ropetwist borders and matching decoration to spandrels, and a pair of earrings formed of two square parts, the top decorated with a mosaic of a shaded white Chi Ro on pale blue ground, the lower part set with mosaic roundels of the doves of peace, mounted with a tear-shaped and two circular mosaic drops in matching colours, the brooch pin with town mark but otherwise apparently unmarked, in a fitted red leather case, with old inventory paper labels, the brooch 4cm., 1 ½ in. wide, the earrings 4.6cm., 1 ¾ in. high;

the gold-mounted mosaic pendant formed of a circular glass mosaic representing two putti on a pale blue background, in a rope twist frame and borders of star-patterned red and white tesserae, the reverse mounted with a circular glazed compartment for a miniature, surmounted with a clasp inlaid to represent flowers in white and green glass, on a pale blue and red ground, the reverse with filigree and applied beads decoration above applied lettering reading ‘Roma’, above a classical vase with matching decoration of a mosaic swan and wirework, 18ct gold standard mark for 1815-1870 in fitted leather presentation case, 9.8cm., 3 7/8 in. high
