the drum decorated with acanthus scrolls and floral sprays; the enamelled dial signed FORTIN A PARIS; the elephant with raised trunk standing on a stepped moulded base with oblong ends and pierced trelliswork sides backed with later red velvet; the later quarter-striking movement with silk thread suspension and anchor escapement and two bells on back plate
