Acquired in Hong Kong during 1980s, by repute.
It is rare to find bi disc with dragon and phoenix design. See a related circular pendant, Warring States period, with a similar design of the dragon, unearthed from the Royal Tombs of Zhongshan Kingdom, illustrated in Yang Boda, Zhongguo yuqi quanji [Complete collection of Chinese jades], vol.1, Hebei, 2005, pl. 213.
