‘Grey Heron’

The grey heron is a slender long-legged egret-like bird with a thin S-shaped neck and pointed dagger bill. It is typically ash-grey with whiteish crown, neck and abdomen. The Grey Heron's favoured habitats are jheels, tanks, streams and tidal creeks with plenty of reeds. Herons are partly nocturnal and do most of their active feeding in the early mornings and early evening twilight.
