rectangular, the lid of the plain tortoiseshell box inset with an oval sardonyx cameo of after the Antique, in a gold frame and on a gold ground chased with vine trellis, under glass in an octagonal blue enamel frame, the gold-lined interior leaving the reverse of the cameo visible which is carved with a laurel wreath, maker's mark, post-Revolutionary unregistered 3eme titre, Paris 3eme titre (1798-1809)
