rectangular with cut corners, the lid centered with a hexagonal enamel plaque painted with a Nymph of Diana disarming two sleeping infant cupids in landscape after Francesco Albani, their quivers nearby, within pale blue and black taille d'épargne borders, on a translucent dark blue enamel ground, the sides and base decorated to match, maker's mark J crowned within crossed laurels
