rectangular, the lid painted en plein with a large oval of a shepherd and shepherdess by a river flowing through rolling hills, a village and mountains in the background, surrounded with blue enamel corners and gold and white enamel fan border, the sides and base similarly decorated, the left rim engraved with a presentation inscription reading: 'Joh. Br Plorváth 1805-46', maker's mark within stylised N marks and sundial mark between sprigs, the right rim numbered: 5300
