Producing seafaring and nautical instruments has long been a staple of the Ulysse Nardin brand identity. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, the brand received numerous medals for its marine chronometers. These were essential for the safe navigation of vessels, and the company found numerous partners and clients around the world. Famously, during the Russo-Japanese war of 1904, Ulysse Nardin provided chronometers to both sides of the conflict.

The company has kept in touch with its naval roots throughout the years, as well as its focus on timekeeping and horology. Both of these focuses are made evident in reference 322-88, with the wave motif dial paired with signature anchor insignia on the rotor and crown calling back to the history of Ulysse Nardin, while the in-house perpetual calendar and GMT movement demonstrates the brand’s mastery of watchmaking and design making use of the iconic combination of Pink gold with a Salmon dial.
