In 2006, Patek Philippe introduced the reference 5140 perpetual calendar in white gold as a replacement for the legendary 3940, followed by yellow gold in 2007, platinum and pink gold in 2010. Since this time, there have been 4 or 5 variations of the 5140 from different dial variations to different case combinations but Patek Philippe has never interfered with the supreme calendar work that made the 5140 one of the most classic wristwatches made by the firm.
