Commentary from the 1996 exhibition catalogue:
Because of the material, one's first impression might be one of whimsy. At closer look, the message is anything but amusing. It tells, graphically, of the plagues brought upon Egypt, but in a manner appropriate for children.
As a teacher of art in a Jewish day school, I attempt to incorporate many lessons into one: Jewish history; the customs and rituals of a living Judaism, and artistic creativity, a staple of Jewish religious expression.
