In 1971, decorator Jacques Grange invited artist Guy de Rougemont to collaborate on decorating the lobby of the SEFRI offices on the 46th floor of the Tour Montparnasse in Paris, inaugurated in 1973.
Guy de Rougemont, known for his colorful, organic works, created the exceptional desk we present.
Designed to play with light and space, this elliptical desk creates a harmonious rhythm, softening the rigor of the surrounding architecture.
The work is more than just a piece of functional furniture; it transcends this functionality by becoming a sculpture integrated into the space.
With this work, Guy de Rougemont succeeds in transforming an interior environment, establishing a link with utilitarian sculpture.
This immersive project, born in the early '70s, illustrates the synergy between decorator and artist, while also testifying to the importance of this unique desk, one of the few made by Guy de Rougemont, at the crossroads of art and design.
