The present bottle is a stellar example of the virtuosity of the Suzhou School. Its deft and imaginative design create a naturalistic sense of movement, depicting a luohan reading an inscription, the reverse with a scholar and pine tree, all intricately picked out with skillful manipulation of the darker inclusions to highlight naturalistic details.
