Back in the heady days of 2000s-era San Francisco, RNM Restaurant, run by the daughter of a co-founder of Oracle, was a gathering spot for the city’s booming tech sector. To serve its elevated clientele, it sought out rare and exquisite libations, including its own barrel of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve. Though the restaurant shut down in 2010, its legacy lives on in this case of 20-year-old Pappy, bottled in 2007 and thus one of the last that single barrels produced by Julian Van Winkle III – and among the last of the Stitzel-Weller-distilled bourbon in Van Winkle’s possession.
