The Patek Philippe Reference 4290 is a beautiful illustration of the quest of Patek Philippe to produce the finest pieces on every single aspect.

Indeed, while the timepiece is powered by a high quality hand-wound movement, the other parts received a similar attention, such as with the dial made of a single piece of lapis lazzuli and decorated with patterned gold hands perfectly complementing the fully decorated stepped and integrated intricate bracelet. The oval shape of the case is evoked by the design of the bracelet, ensuring a stylistic continuity throughout this creation.

The 4290 was produced in limited quantity in three different versions during the 1970's: a simple one on leather strap, the present model "/2" and a similar one with additional lapis lazzuli panels to the bracelet and referenced as "/1".

Rarely appearing at auction, this model is fresh to the market and presented on behalf of the family of the original owner.
