The Autavia was first introduced in 1962. Its name comes from the contraction of Automotive and Aviation.

This 1980s Heuer Autavia 111.603 features a PVD-coated case and is in very good overall condition.

The olive or military green case colour gives this Autavia a unique and stylish appearance.

The reference 111.603 is the last version of the Heuer Autavia produced before the company faced bankruptcy due to the quartz crisis.

The present model is in very good and attractive condition, indeed, PVD coatings are known to wear out relatively quickly after 20-30 years, making well-preserved examples like this one exceptionally rare. Both the case and the bracelet show minimal scratches of the green PVD coating. The remarkable condition of the case significantly enhances this watches' value. The dial and the green rotating bezel are also impeccably preserved.

The movement in this watch is the Heuer automatic caliber 12, which has been continuously refined since its introduction in 1969 (originally as the legendary caliber 11). The caliber 12 in this particular Heuer Autavia is considered the best and most reliable automatic movement produced by Heuer.

This Heuer Autavia 111.603 is a stylish wristwatch and one of the last representatives of the long history of Heuer watches.
