the first rectangular with hinged domed cover, bail handle, and ball feet, engraved with foliate strapwork enclosing three oval fashion portraits, the ends of the cover with swags of fruit, winged cherub head thumbpiece, apparently unmarked; the spoon with St. Philip, the fig-shaped bowl engraved with initials AS/ER , the stem chased with overlapping scalework, maker’s mark only a clover leaf, possibly for Frans Machet of Bolsward
