Woodcut printer's device on 4 title-pages, engraved portrait of the author and of a pilgrim, woodcut initials, 2 title-pages in red and black. (Occasional ink stains in both volumes.)


binding: Contemporary Parisian brown calf (354 x 238 mm), single gilt fillet around sides, central ornament of a gilt wreath, spine with 6 full bands, old spine labels retained, stubs from two pairs of ties, late sixteenth-century fore-edge decoration, title lettered across fore-edge with armorials and leafy decoration. (Rebacked, binding rubbed and worn, wormholing on flyleaves of second volume.)
