Arabic manuscript on paper, 231 leaves, plus 3 fly-leaves, 18 lines to the page written in naskh in black ink, ruled in gold, blue and black, verses separated by gold roundels, surah headings in red on gold and polychrome illuminated panels, hizb, nisf and juz' marked by illuminated marginal devices, f.3b and f.4a with double-page illuminated frontispiece framing text, preceded by prayers within illuminated roundels and an index of surahs arranged within an illuminated grid within floral margins, in lacquer binding with floral motifs, in wooden box
