the black lacquer bowl applied to the apex in dry lacquer in the form of stylised courtier's cap, the black lacquer peak modelled with furrowed brow, five-tiered black lacquer close-fitting neck guard comprised of solid plates, with spaced lacing in dark blue braid, black lacquer ushirodate [rear crests] in form of ei, linen interior lining, the hanbo of typical form, decorated overall in black lacquer, raised rim, red lacquer interior, three tiered solid plate throat protector with spaced lacing in dark blue braid
