The present huang is rare on account of the staggering placement of beasts in which the pendant is divided into upper and lower sections. More commonly, beasts are depicted to occupy the left or right section of the pendant entirely, see one from the Cissy and Robert Tang Collection, sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 8th April 2023, lot 3813; and another previously in the Yangdetang Collection, sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 29th November 2017, lot 2746.
