A Fine Silk Tallit, Italy, late 18th-early 19th century

A tallit (prayer shawl) is worn during daily and Sabbath prayers. This luxurious example is embellished with delicately stitched floral designs in ivory silk throughout.

Physical Description

Silk embroidered with silk thread and needle lace (68 x 48 in.; 1728 x 1220 mm). Few light scattered stains.
