inscribed Rodin, stamped with the foundry mark F. Barbedienne, Fondeur and dedicated A Mr J.J. Weerts, ses Elèves, ses Amis et l'Association des Anciens Elèves de l'Ecole Nationale des Arts Industriels, Roubaix, 19 Juillet 1914, Commandeur de la Légion d'Honneur

Length: 84cm., 33⅛in.
Conceived in plaster in 1884; this reduction cast by the Leblanc-Barbedienne Foundry between 1898 and 1918 in an edition of between 50 and 58; this example cast in 1913.
This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'œuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin currently being prepared by the Comité Rodin in collaboration with Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2001-42B
