Featuring a bezel-set ancient coin depicting Lysimachus in profile, the reverse inscribed 'Lisimachus 323-281 B.C. Thrace,' decorated with round and square-cut diamonds and cabochon rubies, suspended from a curb link chain, gross weight approximately 67 dwts, length 15 inches, signed Bulgari, numbered C1657, with Italian assay and registry marks.
The Bulgari ‘Monete’ necklace was a wedding gift to Mary commissioned by her husband, Dr. Robert Levine. They visited the Bulgari store on New York’s Fifth Avenue together and selected the ancient Greek coin, recalling their fascination with ancient cultures and a trip to Egypt and Israel during which they became engaged.
