Mouawad was founded over a hundred years ago by David Mouawad, who was a master in the craft of goldsmithing and watchmaking in the 19^th century. Their first workshop was based in Beirut, which then expanded to various locations including Europe, Asia and North America through five generations. Throughout the 20^th century, Mouawad became well associated with the most magnificent jewels and watches, including royal families as patrons to the house. Some of the famed historical diamonds from the Mouawad collection include the 245-carat Jubilee diamond, 135-carat Queen of Holland diamond, 69-carat Taylor Burton diamond and 42-carat Mouawad Blue diamond among others.
